The current tense relations between India and China, which started after April 2020 in Eastern Ladakh, are once again showing signs of improvement. On June 15–16, 2020, a violent clash took place between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh, in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred, while more than 40 Chinese soldiers were killed. However, the People's Liberation Army has not officially confirmed the death of its soldiers. Earlier, India's relations with China had deteriorated after the armies of both the countries came face to face on Pangong Lake from April-May 2020.
