This time, the Center has received a dividend of Rs 62,929 crore from government companies, 26 percent more than the target. The dividend in 2022-23 was Rs 59,953 crore. The government got a dividend of Rs 50,000 crore in the financial year 2023-24. According to government department DIPAM, in March the government received Rs 2,964 crore from ONGC, Rs 2,043 crore from Coal India, Rs 2,149 crore from Power Grid, Rs 1,024 crore from NMDC and Rs 1,863 crore from GAIL. With this, the total participation of the government in the stock markets has increased four times to Rs 38 lakh crore. In 2021, this partnership was worth around Rs 9.5 lakh crore.
Infosys gets tax refund of Rs 6,329 crore
IT company Infosys hopes that it can get a tax refund of Rs 6,329 crore from the Income Tax Department. Citing various assessment orders, the company said it has also received a tax demand order of Rs 2,763 crore. The company will announce its financial results for the quarter and financial year ending March 31, 2024, on April 8.
