Work on the budget will begin next week

Sources associated with the Finance Ministry said that the central government may present the full budget for the financial year 2024-2025 by mid-July. For this, a round of marathon meetings will start from next week. It is likely that the central government will continue its development agenda. Along with this, there may also be opportunities to spend more than needed. According to the report, the Finance Ministry may start pre-budget meetings with various ministries and stakeholders by June 17. The central government is likely to continue its development agenda and may look for other opportunities for additional spending.

A post by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on the social media platform also suggests that the budget may be presented in mid-July. He has tweeted that the budget may be presented in the second session of the Lok Sabha. The full budget for FY 2025 will be presented along with the presentation of the Economic Survey. However, the central government has not yet released any information about the upcoming budget. It is worth noting that the interim budget for FY 2025 was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1.

Sitharaman ready to create history

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is all set to create history by presenting the first full budget of Modi 3.0. In fact, this will be Sitharaman's seventh consecutive budget as Finance Minister and it includes six full budgets and one interim budget. In this regard, she will surpass the record of Finance Minister Morarji Desai. He presented 5 annual budgets and one interim budget between 1959-1964.
