MLAs who won the by-election took oath, Vishal Prashant did not take oath

Patna, 25 November (HS). The winter session of Bihar Legislature started from Monday. As soon as the proceedings of the House began, Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav requested the members to conduct the debate in a better manner. In the results of four seats in Bihar Assembly by-election, BJP’s Ashok Singh from Ramgarh, HAM’s Deepa Manjhi from Imamganj and JDU’s Manorama Devi from Belaganj were sworn in. BJP’s Vishal Prashant, elected from Tarari, will take oath a day later.

Before the beginning of the session, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached the Legislative Assembly and met Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav and presented him a bunch of flowers. Also met Legislative Council Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh in his chamber and presented him a bunch of flowers. Many leaders of Janata Dal United welcomed Nitish Kumar when he came to the Legislature on the first day of the session. Vijay Chaudhary, Ashok Chaudhary and Shravan were present in the Bihar Assembly, who welcomed CM Nitish.

Supplementary budget of Rs 22697 crore

After the oath ceremony, the second supplementary budget of Rs 22 thousand 697 crore was laid on the table of the House. Under the Central Scheme, Rs 1714.74 crore was given and the State’s share was Rs 3800.90 crore. Rs 5515.65 crore was given for the scheme and Rs 400 crore was given for Patna Metro. A total of five meetings will be held in the winter session which will run till November 29.

In the winter session of the Assembly, the opposition is ready to corner the government on many issues. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders said even before the session began that the issue of smart meters would be raised in the Assembly. Along with this, farmers are also facing problems due to land survey. Both these issues will be placed on the table of the Assembly. Apart from this, the opposition MLAs will also raise the issue of women harassment, low remuneration to members of livelihood self-help groups and financial exploitation of women by micro finance companies.
