Purnia, 23 September (HS). A team led by MLA Shankar Singh and SDO visited the flood affected areas on Monday to take stock of the situation. The team inspected several panchayats in the areas which have been affected by floods for the last three months and found that the normal life of the people has been completely disrupted.

The floods that started in July started receding in the first week of September but rose again rapidly from the second week due to the storm in the Ganga river.
