If you missed taking a dip of faith at the Sangam banks in the Mahakumbh of 2025, then there is a very good news for you. According to astrology, this time Magh Mela 2026 of Prayagraj is going to witness such a unique and rare spiritual coincidence, which is happening exactly after 75 years. Due to this ‘great coincidence’, the Magh Mela of 2026 will be no less than Mahakumbh and those who bathe here will get the same virtuous results as Mahakumbh.

What is this amazing coincidence of 75 years?

Every year Magh Mela is organized in Prayagraj in the month of Magh, while Kumbh is organized every 6 years and Mahakumbh every 12 years. But this time what is making Magh Mela most special is the play of planets.

According to astrologers, this is happening after 75 years (i.e. in the 76th year) when Sun God will enter Capricorn on its own day, i.e. on Sunday. In astrology, this combination is considered extremely auspicious and fruitful. This is the reason why the importance of bathing and donation has increased manifold in this Magh Mela, and from the saint community to the government, everyone is seeing it as a ‘mini Kumbh’.

Grand preparations are being made on the lines of ‘Mini Kumbh’

Seeing this rare coincidence, the Yogi government is also leaving no stone unturned. Preparations are being made on a large scale to organize this Magh Mela as a ‘Mini Kumbh’, taking place right after the Maha Kumbh:

  • Increased area: The area of the fair has been increased from 750 hectares to 800 hectares.
  • More sectors and bridges: Instead of 6, 7 sectors are being made in the fair and instead of 6, 7 pontoon bridges are being made, so that crores of devotees do not face any inconvenience.

This time, people from Tharu, Nomad and Vantangiya communities as well as saints of different sects are likely to come to the fair in large numbers.

The fair of faith will last for 44 days, these are the main dates of bathing
