Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has once again made a controversial statement about the Lok Sabha election results and voters without naming Muslims. He claimed that despite the development work done by the BJP government at the Center, Muslims have voted for Congress and not BJP. He also claimed that communalism involves only one community, not Hindus. Modi will live in the given house but will vote for Congress only.
Addressing a reception for the victorious Lok Sabha candidates at the BJP headquarters in Assam, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the ruling alliance got 47 per cent votes, while the All India Alliance of Congress and its allies got 39 per cent votes. In Assam, the BJP-AGP-UPPL alliance won 11 of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state, while the Congress won three seats. While assessing the seats won by the Congress, the Chief Minister made a strange statement. He said that only Muslims voted for the Congress, not Hindus. Congress got votes only from Muslims of Bangladeshi origin. Which proves that Hindu communalism has not been formed. He said that communalism in Assam involves only one community (Muslims). No religion does this. Without mentioning any religion, he said that despite the lack of facilities like electricity, water, roads in minority areas, they vote for the Congress. This was done again. On the other hand, the BJP is working for the people and tribals of Assam. However, people of this community did not vote for the BJP. Minorities will live in the houses given by Narendra Modi, take all the facilities but will vote only for Congress. People of Bangladeshi origin will vote for Congress only because they want to capture Assam in the next 10 years.
