Minor accused in Jaipur live bomb case released after Supreme Court order

Jaipur, 18 May (HS). After the Supreme Court's conditional bail order in the live bomb case found outside the Chandpol Hanuman temple after the serial bomb blasts in Jaipur in May 2008, the minor accused was released on Saturday on delivery of Rs 1 lakh and two sureties of Rs 50,000 each. Released from home. But the minor accused will have to attend the ATS office daily and will also have to surrender his passport.

Advocate of the accused Minhajul Haq said that he was imprisoned for 14 years in cases related to Jaipur bomb blast and was released after the Supreme Court approved his bail. It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court, while recently granting conditional bail to the minor accused, had directed the Juvenile Board to complete the trial of the case within three months. Apart from this, a number of conditions were imposed on the minor accused, including not traveling abroad without permission, not joining any illegal organization and re-arresting him if he indulges in any prohibited activity or comes in contact with the concerned persons. A condition for leaving was also included. The minor accused had said in the petition filed in the Supreme Court that he has been acquitted in the main case related to the Jaipur bomb blast case. He was only 16 years and 3 months old at the time of the bomb blast incident and has been in judicial custody since 2019 in the live bomb case. Whereas legally no minor can be punished for more than three years.
