Dhemaji (Assam), 06 August (HS). While laying the foundation stone of the permanent secretariat building of the Missing Autonomous Council in Gogamukh, Education Minister Dr. Ronoj Pegu said that the 'Nijut Maina Yojana' will be started from August 8.
He said that all unmarried girl students who have passed matriculation and taken admission in higher secondary will be included in this scheme and will be given Rs 10,000 as education grant for ten months at the rate of Rs 1,000 per month.
He said that unmarried girl students who pass higher secondary and take admission in degree will be given Rs. 1,200 per month and all married and unmarried girl students who pass degree will be given Rs. 2,500 per month.
It is known that the permanent secretariat building of the Missing Autonomous Council will be constructed at a cost of about Rs 150 crore on 200 bigha land provided by the Sumni villagers of Gogamukh.
Its foundation stone was laid today by Education Minister Dr. Ronoj Pegu. Missing Autonomous Council Chairman Sunil Pegu and Chief Executive Member Parmanand Sengia were also present during this time.
Education Minister Dr Pegu said that during the Congress rule, the budget allocation for the councils was Rs 60 crore. But only Rs 30 crore was given. But, during the days of the BJP government, additional funds are being released apart from the budget allocated amount.
He said Rs 100 crore would be allocated for construction of bridges in areas falling under the Missing Autonomous Council and Rs 200 crore would be allocated to prevent flood-erosion in areas under the council.
