Minister Parmar

Bhopal, July 30 (HS). Higher Education, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar on Tuesday launched an intensive tree plantation program in “Vidyaavan” in the Tagore Hostel Campus of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Polytechnic College, Bhopal. Parmar also planted various medicinal plants including Triveni (Neem, Peepal, Banyan) and Panchvati (Bilva Patra, Amla, Banyan, Peepal and Sita Ashok) in Vidyaavan along with the students and the institute family.

Minister Parmar said that an innovative initiative in the form of “Vidyaavan” has been taken with a view to awakening the spirit of conservation of nature among the students and creating an environment friendly environment in the campus of the educational institution. “Vidyaavan” and “Vidya Samvad Kendra” will develop in Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Polytechnic College and will become a center of inspiration as an ideal institution. Here, the events and symbols based on knowledge, science, medicine and engineering mentioned in the Vedas, Upanishads etc. will be painted and written on the walls of the campus. A glass house will also be built for the study of students in the dense forest of “Vidyaavan”, which will be developed as “Vidya Samvad Kendra”, here students will be able to study and communicate with each other in the natural environment.

Parmar said that “Vidya Van” is an effort to connect students with the ancient knowledge tradition of India. During this, Minister Parmar asked to incorporate India's traditional technical knowledge and skills in the design of murals to develop Vidya Van. Parmar instructed that informative signs should be installed using technology to get quick and detailed information about the historical/medicinal importance of trees and the information displayed on scanning the QR code/informative sign should be factual and true.

Technical Education Minister Parmar honoured students for various commendable works. Film Technology Department students Anuj Sahu, Saral Tamrakar, Birendra Kushwaha, Uday Ahirwar, Raj Rawat, Dhairya Bhargava were honoured for their excellent work in the films made for the Technical Education Department and Government Women Polytechnic students Poorvi Panse, Shaheen Alam, Aradhya Srivastava, Harsha Rajput and Prabha Singh were honoured for their commendable work in the 'PESA' programme. During the programme, saplings were also planted under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

Design proposal presented before Minister Parmar

In front of Minister Parmar, information about the design proposal prepared by the Department of Architecture and Interior Design of Government Women's Polytechnic College for the development of “Vidyaavan” was presented by the Head of Department, Dr. Aradhana Hans. Dr. Aradhana said that in the proposed design proposal, the pathway pattern has been designed while preserving the natural slope of the land and the existing trees. While prominently showing traditional knowledge, it is proposed to develop theme based plantation areas and plant Nav Graha trees, medicinal plants, native and endangered species of plants. The seating arrangement in Vidya Samvad is inspired by the shape of the Milky Way, which is a symbol of the possibilities of infinite knowledge acquisition like the unlimited nature of the universe. Elements like solar powered lighting system, rain water harvesting system are also included to promote sustainability. Under the garden beautification, development of artistic furniture and theme based/nature inspired sculptures etc. using the available stones is proposed. Here the contribution of the sages in the eternal journey of knowledge related to mathematics, science, medicine and the deep mysteries of the universe will be depicted in the form of murals on the walls.

MLA of regional assembly Bhopal (South-West) Bhagwan Das Sabnani, Commissioner of Technical Education Madan Vibhishan Nagargoje and Principal of the institute Dr. K.V. Rao along with professors, students and officers-employees of the institute family were present in the program.
