New Delhi, June 13 (HS). Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh left for Kuwait from New Delhi this morning. It is noteworthy that about 42-43 people from India have died in a fire in a multi-storey building in Mangaf city of Kuwait yesterday. Most of the dead include citizens of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and North Indian states.
Singh said in New Delhi before leaving for abroad, “As soon as we got the information about the fire, we discussed it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a meeting last evening. The whole situation will be clear after reaching there. Right now the information is that some bodies are so scorched that it is difficult to identify them. DNA tests are going on for identification. As soon as the bodies are identified, their families will be informed. The bodies will be brought back to the country by Air Force plane. We have the latest figures of last night. The number of casualties is around 48-49. Out of these, 42 or 43 are Indian citizens.”
