Minister Narendra Kashyap inaugurated 'Divya Diwali Fair-2024'

Lucknow, 29 October (Hindustan Reporter). State Minister of State for Backward Class Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap inaugurated the 'Divya Diwali Fair-2024' organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities at Saharaganj Mall, Lucknow. The Minister inspected various stalls in the fair. Met disabled children and encouraged them.

On this occasion, the Minister praised the products of the disabled and said that organizing such fairs is proving helpful in providing a platform to the disabled for their skills. He said that such initiatives are also helpful in including the disabled people in the mainstream of the society and in increasing awareness about the products manufactured by them. The minister also said that it is the responsibility of the society to support the efforts of the disabled people to become self-reliant in the fair. On this occasion, he urged the society to use the goods manufactured by the disabled people so that they can get financial encouragement.

There was a grand exhibition of items prepared by disabled people in the Divya Diwali Fair-2024. This fair has been organized with the aim of promoting skills, creativity and self-reliance of the disabled people. About 25 government and non-government organizations set up their stalls in this fair, which included colorful lamps, fancy candles, urns, flower pots, rangoli, aarti thalis, torans, pendants, different types of Lakshmi-Ganesh idols, cow dung. And many items like earthen lamps, jute bags and teddy wear were displayed. The display of these textiles and decorative items is not only a testament to their creativity but also an important step towards their economic self-reliance.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary Subhash Chandra Sharma, Director Bhupendra S. Chaudhary and State Commissioner Prof. Senior officers and employees of the department including Himanshu Shekhar Jha were present.
