Ranchi, July 11 (HS). Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister Banna Gupta conducted a surprise inspection of the FCI godown Kadru, which is known as the storehouse of food grains for the poor, on Thursday. This created a stir among the officers and employees. When the officers on duty got the information about the arrival of the minister, they rushed to the FCI godown. There they became nervous on seeing the minister of the department in front of them.
Seeing the dirt around the grain, Minister Banna Gupta got angry. He reprimanded the concerned people. He got the grain sacks weighed. The quantity of grain in many sacks was found to be less. He said that whoever is responsible for this will not be spared.
On Thursday, JSF & CSCL reached the state godown of Jharkhand State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited located in Kadru, Ranchi. But no officer had reached there at that time. After waiting for some time, the officials of the Supply Corporation Limited were called. After the call, some officers reached the godown. Annoyed with the shortcomings, the minister started matching the stock. Even in that, data entry update of one month was not found. On this, the departmental minister reprimanded the officials.
He warned senior officials over the phone and directed them to improve their working system. He also cautioned that those who steal food grains meant for the poor and those who show negligence will not be tolerated at all, no matter who they are.
Speaking to journalists on the occasion, the minister said that Congress had implemented the Food Security Bill so that no one in the country remains hungry, the government's food grains should reach the plates of the poor, this is the thinking of our leader Rahul Gandhi, while giving me this responsibility, he instructed that the poor should never have to sleep hungry, many irregularities have been found in the inspection which will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty in this.
