Saharanpur, September 17 (HS). State Electronics and Information Technology Minister and District In-charge Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma inspected the Kanha Upvan Gaushala operated by the Municipal Corporation during his visit to the district on Tuesday. The Minister in-charge fed jaggery to the cows and worshipped the cattle. He praised the Gaushala and the products made from cow dung and cow urine.
Giving information about the treatment plant installed by the corporation in the cowshed, Nagar Aayukt Sanjay Chauhan told the minister in charge that the water that comes out of the cowshed for washing etc. is purified and reused. He told that the pistia plants planted in the plant absorb the waste elements from the cow dung water. The process of oxygenation and ozonation is used in this.
The Minister-in-Charge also saw products like gonail made from cow urine and lamps made from cow dung, incense sticks, idols of Ganesha and Om, rakhi and organic manure etc.
Mayor Dr. Ajay Kumar told the minister in charge that cows are kept in the Gaushala and bulls are kept in the Nandishala near it. The corporation is planning to expand it further in view of the increasing number of cows.
Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Chauhan said that these products of the Municipal Corporation are available on Amazon and are being sold online till Karnataka and Telangana. The Corporation's Veterinary Welfare Officer Dr. Sandeep Mishra informed the Minister-in-Charge about the process of making gonile and other cow dung products.
During the inspection, MLA Rampur Maniharan Devendra Nim, MLA Nakur Mukesh Chaudhary, District Magistrate Manish Bansal, SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan, Additional City Commissioner Mrityunjay, Chief Engineer Construction BK Singh etc were present.
