Kishanganj, 31 July (HS). The mining department is continuously taking action against those involved in illegal mining, storage and transportation in the district. The mining department took action against those involved in illegal mining in Gachpara of Kishanganj block and confiscated a tractor loaded with sand which was running away after illegal mining near Gachpara's Kamarmuni dam and a case has been registered against four people in Sadar police station.
While bringing the tractor to the police station, near Peepla Chowk, the tractor owner and three persons riding a Pulsar bike whose registration number is WB 62 G 3385 gathered a crowd and opposed the patrol team and tried to take away the tractor by pushing and shoving. However, due to the intelligence of the police patrol team, all the three accused have been arrested.
After questioning the villagers and local people, it was found that Shakir Haq, Hakim Haq, Ganesh Murmu and Mannarul Haq Gachpada mine sand and sell it at high prices in the market. While the said tractor was being taken to the police station, the tractor owner and three persons riding a Pulsar bike gathered a crowd near Peepla Chowk and started opposing the patrol team. An attempt was made to take away the tractor by pushing and shoving. At present, all types of mining are banned. The officials of the mining department registered a case against four persons in Sadar police station.
