New Delhi, 25 September (HS). Just before the festivals, the Delhi government has given a gift to the workers by increasing the minimum wage. Announcing the increase in the minimum wage, Chief Minister Atishi said on Wednesday that now the minimum wage of unskilled workers in Delhi will be Rs 18,066, semi-skilled workers will be Rs 19,929 and skilled workers will be Rs 21,917. She said that the minimum wage in Delhi is double compared to BJP ruled states. The minimum wage given to workers in Delhi is the highest compared to any other state in the country.
Atishi said that in 10 years, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi government has given a respectable life to the common people of Delhi and we will continue to work in the same way in the coming 4 months. In this regard, CM Atishi tweeted that the Delhi government has once again decided to increase the minimum wage in Delhi. Delhi has the highest minimum wage in the entire country.
With the new rates applicable from October 1, the minimum wage for unskilled workers has now increased to Rs 18,066, semi-skilled workers to Rs 19,929 and skilled workers to Rs 21,917. On one hand, there are BJP-ruled states where the minimum wage is half that of Delhi. On the other hand, there is Arvind Kejriwal's Delhi where the government takes every necessary step to give a respectable life to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Atishi further said that for the last 10 years, the Delhi government has run the government to give a better life to the common people of the capital. Whether it is 24-hour electricity, the cheapest electricity in the country, excellent government schools, free tests and medicines in mohalla clinics, providing free treatment by building world-class hospitals, free pilgrimages for the elderly or free bus travel for women.
He said that apart from these facilities, the Delhi government has done a historic work which could not be done in the entire country. This is the highest minimum wage in the country. In the matter of minimum wage, Arvind Kejriwal's government has given the highest minimum wage in the country.
He said that the people who get minimum wages are from the poor section, they are laborers. To stop their exploitation, the Delhi government has taken the initiative of raising the minimum wages to a historic level.
