Godda, July 15 (HS). Villagers of Lohandiya Bazar village, adjacent to the mine area of Rajmal area of Eastern Coalfield Limited, halted coal production work for the second consecutive day on Monday demanding electricity. People are demanding that free electricity and water should be provided to the affected village.
The agitation has been going on for about a month now regarding the issue. The villagers had given an ultimatum to the management to close the mine 14 days ago.
Here, Rajbhar Project Management says that the management is talking to the local administration in this matter. On Monday, hundreds of women and common people reached the spot and participated in the protest. People have stopped the coal supply near the conveyor belt built for coal transportation. Many top management officials including Rajmal Project's General Manager Operations Satish Murari have reached the spot and efforts are being made to resolve the matter by talking to the villagers.
