Migraine is a neurological problem: Dr Vinay Goyal

Moradabad, March 10 (HS). Migraine is a type of headache that is usually felt on one side of the head. It feels like a stabbing pain. It is a neurological problem that can cause many other symptoms such as nausea, numbness, decreased vision, fatigue, temporary loss of vision, confusion. These things were said by Dr. Vinay Goyal, neurophysician at Medanta Gurgaon and ex-professor of Delhi AIIMS, as the chief guest at the annual CME “Manthan” of the Indian Medical Association, Moradabad.

In the Annual CME organized at Hotel Clark Inn, Rampur Road, Moradabad, Dr. Vinay Goyal further said that people are generally confused about migraine and consider it as a common headache, but the effects of migraine are just that of an ordinary headache. There is much more than pain.

Dr. Vinay Goyal said that generally there are four stages of migraine in which different types of symptoms are seen. Prodrome – An early stage of migraine. This gives you a warning signal before the onset of migraine. – Also called classic migraine, which is a type of migraine in which the pain may appear before or during the pain. Generally, it comes with some warning signs that signal you about a migraine pain. In such a case, migraine symptoms start increasing gradually and can last for about an hour.

Attack or Seizure – If the initial symptoms of migraine are ignored and not treated timely, a migraine attack or seizure can last from four hours to seventy-two hours. The number of migraine attacks can vary from person to person and a person may be affected by multiple migraine attacks in a month. Post-drome – This is a condition that begins after a migraine attack. Post-drome may make you feel tired and weak throughout the day. In some cases, even moving the head can trigger migraine pain again.
