After the Lok Sabha election results, the BSE Midcap Index and Smallcap Index are witnessing a continuous upward trend. Both these indices have increased by 13 percent since the election results.
Sensex and Nifty performed better due to the rise in these two indices. Both Sensex and Nifty rose by 7 percent each. Telecom, realty and industrial sectors were the biggest gainers. Between June 5 and June 14, this sectoral index rose by 13 percent. During this period, all the BSE midcap index members registered gains. However, 14 out of a total of 998 stocks in BSE Smallcap closed with a decline.
