Bengaluru (January 08): Microsoft will invest $3 billion in India for cloud and AI infrastructure in the next 2 years and CEO Satya Nadella has announced this.
On Monday, Nadella met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed interest in investing in India. After that the investment announcement came out. Speaking in Bengaluru on Tuesday, Nadella said, ‘Microsoft will invest $ 3 billion in the field of cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India. This is Microsoft’s largest investment in India to date.”
“Our goal is to train and skill 10 million people in AI by 2030,” Nadella said. “The company has already empowered 2.4 lakh Indians with AI skills, including civil servants, college students and people with disabilities,” he said.
The investment aims to accelerate AI innovation in the country, which has been analyzed as a key to achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047 (Developed India).

Bengaluru: Microsoft has increased the salary of Indian-origin CEO Satya Nadella by 63%. He has received a total salary of US $ 79.1 million (approximately Rs 665 crore) from Microsoft in the financial year 2024. Nadella’s salary in FY 2023 was $48.5 million (current value is about Rs 408 crore). This is the second highest salary that Nadella received after joining the company.
