New Metro: Finally, after the decision in the cabinet meeting, Phase 1B East West Corridor of Metro has almost been approved. 12 stations will be built in this corridor from Charbagh to Basant Kunj. After its completion, it will become very easy to reach Basant Kunj from Charbagh and the traffic problem will also end to a great extent. Like the first corridor, the stations built in the second corridor will also attract people with their beauty.
Now the budget has increased
The total route length of the East-West Corridor from Charbagh to Basant Kunj will be about 11.165 kilometers. In which the elevated length will be 4.286 kilometers while the underground length will be 6.879 kilometers. The total number of stations in this corridor will be 12, which will include seven underground and five elevated stations. The estimated time for completion of this proposed corridor is 5 years. A total of Rs 5,801 crore will be spent on this project.
These will be the stations

These areas will benefit
With the opening of this corridor, the areas of old Lucknow will get direct benefits. At present, there is jam throughout the day on the routes leading to Old Lucknow. The situation becomes worse due to lack of parking facilities. When metro facility will be available then obviously the problem of traffic jam will also be solved to a great extent. Along with this, the traders coming to the wholesale markets located in old Lucknow from other cities will also get significant benefits and this will also impact the business growth.
will serve as a junction
Charbagh Metro station will serve as the junction of both the corridors of Lucknow i.e. North-South Corridor and East-West Corridor. The depot of this corridor will be built in Basant Kunj. The DPR has also been upgraded with a 750 DC traction system, which is being implemented in the Kanpur and Agra Metro projects. Which is being followed mainly due to serious OHE flashing problem caused by metal wire in kites in Lucknow Metro Project.
the project will go to the center
After getting the green signal from the state government, this project will now go to the central government. As soon as the clearance is received from there, a tender will be floated for the selection of the company. After the tender process, a survey will be conducted by the company on the new route and it will be seen where there are sewer lines or power lines. After this, based on that report the metro route will be approved and then construction will start.
