Mercury drops due to moist winds coming from Bay of Bengal, chances of showers


Kanpur, 22 May (HS). The weather patterns in Uttar Pradesh seem to be changing once again and moist winds are coming from the Bay of Bengal. Due to this humidity is increasing and temperature is falling. However, due to moisture in the atmosphere, people do not seem to be getting respite from the humid heat at present. The Meteorological Department says that day temperatures will remain normal and there are chances of local showers.

Dr. SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology, said on Wednesday that pre-monsoon activities have started. Moist winds from the Bay of Bengal have started coming to Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, day temperatures have almost reached normal conditions, although night temperatures are higher than normal. Due to the arrival of moist winds, the temperature of 40 degrees is making people feel 43 to 44 degrees. In such a situation, people do not seem to be getting relief from the heat at present, but there are chances of local showers. At the same time, clouds are also forming in the sky due to the moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal and these clouds can also cause thunder at some places.

Told that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 40.0 and the minimum temperature was 29.0 degree Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 64 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 36 percent. The direction of the winds was north-east with an average speed of 9.9 km per hour. According to the weather forecast, there are chances of light clouds in the next five days but there is no possibility of rain. The day temperature is expected to be 2-3 degrees Celsius above normal.
