Ranchi, July 24 (HS). A meeting related to child rights and security was held in the Collectorate on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Ujjwal Prakash Tiwari, member of Jharkhand State Child Rights Protection Commission. In the meeting, Ujjwal Prakash Tiwari discussed the issues of child protection in detail with the concerned officials and gave several instructions to the concerned officials.
Ranchi's Assistant Commissioner of Excise was directed to prohibit the entry of youth below 21 years of age in all bars and restaurants operating in the district as per the rules. Also, a report of the action taken in this regard was asked to be made available to the Commission. Apart from this, Tiwari directed to run an awareness campaign related to the ill effects of drug abuse on youth in the district.
Tiwari asked the education department representative present in the meeting to coordinate with the Assistant Commissioner of Excise, District Transport Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and District Child Protection Officer in the schools and colleges operating in the district and run awareness campaigns related to the ill effects of drug abuse on youth. Along with this, instructions were also given to provide conduct certificates to all the employees working in the non-government schools operating in the district.
Tiwari also directed the District Child Protection Officer to write a letter to the Civil Surgeon of Ranchi for making available 108 ambulance 24 hours a day for emergency medical facility to the children for the Children's Home running in the district. The District Social Welfare Officer was directed to take necessary further action for operating a Children's Home for handicapped girls in the district. Along with this, the Labor Superintendent was directed to provide the statement of child laborers freed from child labor in the district for the last one year and to provide the statement related to the compensation amount to be given to the Commission.
