The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there may be relief from the heat in the coming days. Heat wave will not prevail in most states of the country. The IMD on Wednesday (June 26, 2024) predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over the western peninsular coast during the next 3-4 days.
Heavy rain likely between June 27 and June 30
Heavy rainfall is likely over coastal Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka during this period, the IMD said. Heavy rainfall is likely over northeastern Indian states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim between June 27 and June 30.
Heavy to very heavy rains may occur at many places in North-West India during 28 to 30 June. Rains are likely in western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Apart from this, a warning of heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy (115.5-204.4 mm) rain has been issued at various places in eastern Uttar Pradesh on 27 and 28 June. Monsoon is also progressing slowly.
When will the monsoon arrive in Delhi?
According to Mahesh Palawat of Skymet Weather Service, monsoon is likely to reach Delhi on June 29 or 30.

The weather department said that rest of Gujarat, rest of Madhya Pradesh, rest of West Bengal, Jharkhand, rest of Bihar, rest of Rajasthan, eastern Uttar Pradesh and western Uttar Pradesh will receive rainfall during the next three to four months.
