It has been a month since the official arrival of monsoon in Gujarat and now the monsoon has also arrived. However, Meghraja has been batting fiercely for the last few days, especially in some parts of South Gujarat. Apart from this, there is sporadic rain in other parts of the state as well. In a city like Ahmedabad, people are drenched in sweat due to unbearable monsoon and are eagerly waiting for the rain. In such a situation, a big prediction has been made by the Meteorological Department for the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Department, 3 rain systems have become active simultaneously in Gujarat. An orange alert has been issued for Surat, Navsari and Valsad districts due to offshore trough, cyclonic circulation and western disturbance due to the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the coming days. Apart from this, heavy rains are also expected in Ahmedabad, Anand, Chhota Udaipur, Dahod, Vadodara, Narmada, Tapi, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad and Gir-Somnath.
Apart from this, light to moderate rain with thunder is also expected in other districts of the state. While Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar are also likely to receive rain with thunder.
The Meteorological Department has not issued a red alert for rain in any district of the state for the next 5 days. However, Meghraj can conquer Saurashtra after two days. Meanwhile, an orange alert has been issued in Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir-Somnath, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Dwarka and Jamnagar.
