In Himachal Pradesh, 72 roads have been closed due to rain and the local weather office has warned of heavy rains at isolated places on September 2. Officials gave this information on Saturday.

According to the State Emergency Operations Centre, of the 72 roads closed, 35 are in Shimla, 15 in Mandi, 9 in Kullu and one each in Una, Sirmaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts. According to them, 10 power and 32 water supply schemes have also been disrupted in the state due to rain. According to the centre, 150 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state since the onset of monsoon on June 27.

Heavy damage due to rain in Himachal Pradesh

Rainfall causes loss of Rs 1265 crore to the state. It has been raining in many parts of the state since Friday evening. Sundarnagar received 44.8 millimetres (mm), Shilaru 43.1 mm, Jubbarhatti 20.4 mm, Manali 17 mm, Shimla 15.1 mm, Slapper 11.3 mm and Dalhousie 11 mm of rain. The local weather office has issued a 'yellow' warning of heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning at different places in the state on September 2. On the other hand, heavy rains are expected in rain-affected Gujarat due to Asana storm.

Danger of storm in Gujarat

At the same time, a red alert has been issued for the areas adjacent to the Arabian Sea in Karnataka. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rains in the northeastern states of the country and Central India. At the same time, an orange alert has been issued for five eastern states including Odisha. South Indian states may also receive heavy rains. However, the weather is expected to remain normal in other North Indian states including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Storm Asna, which arose in the Arabian Sea near the coast of Gujarat, has also moved towards Oman. In such a situation, the people of Gujarat have breathed a sigh of relief.
