Meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Legislative Council concluded; All-party consensus reached on one-day House proceedings

An important meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Legislative Council was held today under the chairmanship of the Leader of the House, Legislative Council and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya in Room No. 77 (First Floor) of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Building.

In the meeting, the conduct and agenda of the upcoming Legislative Council session were discussed in detail. On this occasion, the Leader of the House established dialogue with the leaders of all the parties and emphasized on meaningful discussion on the issues of dignity of the House and public interest.

Main points of the meeting:

• Consensus on one-day House: In the meeting, the proposal to organize the upcoming Legislative Council session for one day was considered, on which all the party leaders present gave their unanimous consent.

• Cordial atmosphere: During the discussion, a very positive and cordial atmosphere was seen between the ruling party and the opposition. All the leaders agreed to smoothly run the proceedings of the House and hold discussions in accordance with democratic values.

• Opposition participation: Opposition leader Shri Lal Bihari Yadav also presented his suggestions in the meeting. He agreed to the government’s efforts and action plan to ensure discussion on issues of public interest within the House.

2. Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya, Leader of the House (Legislative Council)

3. Shri Suresh Khanna ji, Parliamentary Affairs Minister

4. Shri Lal Bihari Yadav, Leader of Opposition

5. Party leaders and senior officials of various political parties.

Leader of the House Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya expressed his gratitude to everyone at the end of the meeting and said that the cooperation of the opposition in the proceedings of the House is necessary for the strengthening of democracy. He assured that the legislative work will be executed effectively during the one-day session.
