Meeting in Delhi Secretariat regarding the upcoming monsoon

New Delhi, June 10 (HS). Keeping in mind the upcoming monsoon, Delhi's Urban Development Department and Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj held a meeting with officials of Delhi Municipal Corporation, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, DDA, Cantonment Board, NDMC and PWD departments at the Delhi Secretariat. Public Works Department Minister Atishi also attended the meeting.

All the officers present in the meeting made presentations on the preparations made by their departments for the coming monsoon. The officers told the minister what preparations have been made so far by their departments to deal with the problems arising during the monsoon.

In the presentation, the departments which are responsible for cleaning the drains of Delhi, told how far the cleaning work of the drains has been completed. Along with this, the officials of the PWD department presented the current status regarding the cleaning of the big drains under them. They told to what level the cleaning work of the big drains has reached to deal with the problems of the coming monsoon. Along with this, what other preparations have been made by the PWD department to deal with the problems of the monsoon. They told that to avoid any kind of water logging problem in the monsoon, permanent pumps and temporary pumps have been installed for the big drains.

The officials present in the meeting told where they will install permanent and temporary pumps so that the people of Delhi do not have to face any kind of problem during the monsoon. Apart from this, all the departments present in the meeting presented the complete information about the preparations made by them to deal with the problems of monsoon before the ministers.

During the meeting, PWD Minister Atishi and Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj issued instructions to the officials of their respective ministries to prepare a list of the locations of the temporary and permanent pumps installed by them in the 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi and a list of the names and phone numbers of the officials operating those pumps and provide it to the MLA of that assembly constituency.
