Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday. During this, he said that Bangladesh is India's largest development partner and we give top priority to our relations with Bangladesh. We have met 10 times in the last one year, but today's meeting is special because Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is our first state guest in our third term.
In a joint statement after the bilateral meeting, PM Modi said that Bangladesh is located at the confluence of our Neighbourhood First Policy, Act East Policy, Vision Sagar and Indo-Pacific Vision. In the last one year, we have done a lot of work together for public welfare. Mongla port has been connected to the railway for the first time. Trade in Indian Rupees has started between the two countries.

PM Modi said that the first cross-border pipeline between India and Bangladesh has started. So much work has been done in the last one year. The Prime Minister said that the India-Bangladesh Maitri Satellite will take our relations to new heights. Both sides have agreed to discuss SIPA. 54 common rivers connect India and Bangladesh.

He said that the world's largest river cruise on the Ganges river between India and Bangladesh has been successfully completed. A technical team will visit Bangladesh for the conservation and management of Teesta in Bangladesh. We have similar views on the Arabian Sea. The implementation of such a big initiative in so many areas in just one year shows the speed and scale of our relations.
