Meerut rape accused arrested from Dehradun, reward was Rs 10,000


Dehradun, March 16 (HS). Special Task Force Uttarakhand and Meerut Police conducted a joint raid in Dehradun on Saturday and arrested a rape accused carrying a reward of Rs 10,000. The accused had committed the rape incident in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh and was absconding for the last one year.

Senior Superintendent of Police STF Ayush Aggarwal said that when Daurala police station of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh shared information with Uttarakhand STF about Nikhil Kumar, a criminal carrying a bounty of Rs 10,000, who was absconding from his area for the last one year, a team of STF Dehradun. I was raiding the possible hiding places of the absconding criminal. Finally, in a joint raid with Meerut Police on Saturday, the absconding criminal was arrested from Windlass Apartment, Goa, Dehradun.

Arrested criminal Nikhil Kumar (32), son of Sunil Kumar, resident of village Samauli police station, Daurala district, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, admitted to raping a woman in the month of February last year in Daurala area of ​​Meerut. Since then he was absconding. Senior Superintendent of Police, Meerut had announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for the arrest of the criminal.
