Medicity and Medical College will be ready before Simhastha: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Ujjain, 21 November (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted a Medicity and Medical College to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Its Bhoomi Pujan was performed today. This ambitious project will be ready before Simhastha. With this new system, every disease will now be treated under the supervision of Mahakal. Ujjain’s Medicity will be known worldwide in the field of health. Along with hi-tech health facilities, a medical device park will also be developed in Ujjain. With the aim of providing all the facilities in one complex, a high-rise building will be built and every inch of land will be utilized. There will be residential arrangements for doctors and paramedical staff etc. in the campus itself.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the program by performing the bhoomi pujan of the state’s first Medicity and Government Medical College to be constructed at a cost of Rs 592.30 crore in Ujjain on Thursday evening. During Bhoomi Pujan, Swasti was recited by Vedpathi Bahrins. The Chief Minister said that this Medicity and Government Medical College will start before Simhastha-2028. Medical tourism will also be established in Ujjain in collaboration with the private sector. In Ujjain, not only the state but also all the patients coming from abroad will be treated.

He said that after the formation of Madhya Pradesh till the year 2003-04, there were a total of 05 medical colleges in the state. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, 30 medical colleges are running in the state, out of which 17 are government and 13 are in the private sector. He said that the government and society will make arrangements with cooperation. 12 more medical colleges are being prepared next year. There is also a plan to make arrangements for medical education in hospitals where capacity is more. Earlier there were separate departments of medical education and public health in the state, which have now been united. The government is providing facilities to the general public by making good use of every single penny.

The Chief Minister said that after the Prime Minister launched the Ayushman Bharat Niramay Yojana, the state government has also started the facility of air lifting serious patients for treatment in big hospitals within three months. In places where there is no airport or airstrip, treatment facilities are being provided to the patients by air lifting them by helicopter. At present, medical education is being provided to 5000 students in the state, which will increase to 10 thousand in the coming time. Besides, 5 medical colleges of Ayurveda are being started in the state. Ayurvedic Dhanvantari College of Ujjain will be made like AIIMS with all facilities, its process is going on. Besides, Homeopathy College is also being started in Ujjain.

He said that instructions have been given to all the universities of the state to provide employment oriented paramedical and nursing education, this will provide employment in the state. The university has also been instructed to conduct paramedical and nursing examinations. The Chief Minister said that arrangements for dead bodies are also being made in all the hospitals of the state.

He said that the state government has made adequate arrangements to eradicate sickle cell anemia. It has also been decided to construct a new building of Ujjain Collector Office on the land near Madhav Nagar police station. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla and local MLA Anil Jain Kaluheda also addressed the program.

The program was inaugurated by the Chief Minister by lighting the lamp and garlanding the statue of Lord Dhanvantari and performing Kanya Puja. The Chief Minister, who arrived at the program wearing a Malvi turban, welcomed the gathering by showering flowers. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also distributed benefits under various schemes in the program.

State’s first Medicity

The state’s first Medicity and Medical College to be built in Ujjain will be built on 14.97 acres at a cost of Rs 592.3 crore. It will have 6 high rise towers. The building of the teaching hospital will be 9 storeyed, which also includes basement. The medical college building will be 8 storeyed and a basement will also be built in it. The buildings of Nurses Hostel, RDH Block and UG Intern Girls Hostel will have 14 storeys. The building of UG Intern Boys Hostel will be 11 storeyed. Medicity Medical College will be completely efficient and will have all the facilities for research and development. This college will have a hospital with a capacity of 550 beds and medical education will be provided to 150 medical students. The college will be equipped with the facilities of 380 capacity Nursing Hostel, UG Intern Girls and Boys Hostel, Service Block, Library, Parking, Gymnasium, Footover Bridge. Modern technologies like energy efficiency, fire safety, rain water harvesting, solar power, electricity backup, sewerage treatment plant etc. will be used in the building of Medicity Medical College.
