Jaipur, June 3 (HS). On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, the Medical and Health Department will organize various activities for environmental protection and promotion. Director Public Health Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur has issued guidelines for the activities to be organized for environmental protection in the medical institutions of the state.
Director Public Health informed that various public awareness activities will be organised by various government departments and voluntary organisations including the medical department on this year's theme 'Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience' for the World Environment Day celebrations. He informed that pollution and climate change are the reasons for the rapidly deteriorating environment, due to which healthy life on earth is becoming difficult and the risk of serious diseases on human health has increased.
Dr. Mathur informed that under Green Friendly Environment Activities, in all the Government Health Centres, along with tree plantation activities, public awareness activities about the importance of environment will also be organized with the help of public representatives and social workers. The health workers working in the field will help in creating awareness among the general public about the challenges like increasing heat, air pollution, water shortage etc. due to adverse environmental changes and will help in planting as many trees as possible.
