Basti, July 25 (HS). Students studying MBBS in Maharishi Vashisht Medical College of the district protested in large numbers in the medical college demanding increase in internship honorarium and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister.
The students told that they are getting such a low honorarium that they are not able to meet their personal expenses. They told that their internship honorarium is less than MNREGA wages and their working hours are 10 to 14 hours per day. They have demanded from the state government that their internship honorarium should be made Rs. 1000 per day so that their daily and financial problems can be solved.
