Media should contribute in saving Indian culture and traditions: Dinesh Pratap Singh | News India

Lucknow, 24 August (HS). State Minister (Independent Charge) Horticulture Department of Uttar Pradesh Government, Dinesh Pratap Singh released Upaj Sandesh in a program organized in the auditorium of Horticulture Department on Saturday. On this occasion, MLC Dr. Jai Pal Singh Vyas, Indian Press Council member Shyam Singh Panwar and Provincial President of Upaj Sarvesh Kumar Singh were present.

Addressing the program, Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh said that the media should contribute in saving Indian traditions and culture. He requested the senior journalists present in the program to guide the new journalists. New journalists should also learn from their seniors and behave like them. The Horticulture Minister announced to give one lakh rupees for the Journalist Welfare Fund of Uttar Pradesh Association of Journalists.

The main speaker of the program and teacher MLC Dr. Jai Pal Singh Vyas said that journalists have played an important role in the freedom movement. Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi worked to awaken the society through newspapers. After independence, the media is contributing to nation building.

Jai Pal Singh Vyas said that on the basis of his dedication and hard work, the society has accepted the media as the fourth pillar apart from the constitution. MLC Dr. Jai Pal Singh Vyas has also announced to give Rs 21 thousand for the Journalist Welfare Fund.

State President of Upaj Sarvesh Kumar Singh said that what should be the future India like? There is a need to work on the role of media for future India. Only India will give the message of world brotherhood to the world. He said that the form of journalism has changed. Social media is an influential medium today. It also has its dangers. Sarvesh Singh said that social media is a double-edged sword. There is no system there. Therefore, the challenges are also more.

UPAS State General Secretary Radheshyam Lal Karna said that units of Uttar Pradesh Association of Journalists have been formed in 50 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Journalist Welfare Fund has been formed for the welfare of journalists. Senior journalist Manoj Mishra has announced to donate 11 thousand rupees for the Journalist Welfare Fund.

Senior journalists Hemant Tiwari, Ajay Shrivastava, Devkinandan Mishra, Suresh Yadav, Avinash Mishra, Shridhar Agnihotri, Provincial Vice President of Upaj Vilal Kidwai, President of Lucknow Upaj Varun Kumar Gupta were prominently present in the program.
