Me here, with a lead of one lakh votes, AAP has managed to save its political fort

Barnala: Sangrur, the Lok Sabha constituency of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, is called the political capital or political fort. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann started his political journey from here. He won the Lok Sabha elections from here twice in 2014 and 2019 with a lead of lakhs of votes.

After winning the assembly elections from Dhuri constituency, he became the Chief Minister of Punjab and resigned from the post of Lok Sabha MP, in 2022 again by-elections were held in this constituency, where Aam Aadmi Party lost this election badly and Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar. Simarjit Mann won the election. To save his political fort, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann played a political bet on his cabinet minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer.

Keeping his promise, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has saved the political bastion of Aam Aadmi Party and is leading his rival candidates with a lead of lakhs of votes from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency. The entire Aam Aadmi Party is celebrating its political victory on social media and while posting congratulatory posts for its minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, there is a flood of congratulatory messages at his Barnala residence as well.
