News India Live, Digital Desk: In view of the double festival of Chaitra Navratri and Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, Uttar Pradesh Police and Administration are in full ‘high alert’ mode. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ is being adopted against the mischievous elements trying to disturb the peace of the state. DGP Headquarters has made it clear that during the festival, anyone posting inflammatory posts, videos or spreading rumors on social media will not be spared and such people may have to go straight to jail.

Drones and Third Eye Surveillance (Surveillance & Tech)

Unprecedented security arrangements have been made in sensitive districts like Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Sambhal and Meerut.

Aerial Survey: Modern drone cameras are being used for crowd control and monitoring suspicious activities around mosques and Eidgahs.

CCTV Network: Major intersections and namaz places have been equipped with CCTV cameras, which are being live monitored from the control room.

PAC and SWAT: To strengthen the security arrangements, along with civil police, PAC, Rapid Action Force (RAF) and SWAT teams have been fielded.

Preparation for ‘digital strike’ on social media

of UP Police ‘Social Media Cell’ Active 24×7. Those posting objectionable content on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and X are being monitored.

Screws of IT Act: For posting inflammatory posts, a case will be registered under various sections of the IT Act. The government has recently made the provisions of fines and punishment for cyber crimes more stringent.

Avoid rumours: Police have appealed to the public not to share any unverified information. Immediately report any suspicious post to the local police or ‘112’.

Coordination with religious leaders and flag march

To ensure a peaceful event, Captains (SSP/SP) of all the districts have held peace committee meetings with religious leaders.

Flag March: The police force has assured the public of security by conducting flag marches in sensitive areas.

Intelligence agencies alert: LIU and Intelligence Department teams are present among the crowd in plain clothes and gathering information from moment to moment.

Appeal for communal harmony

The administration has appealed to all communities to celebrate the festival together and with brotherhood. Route diversion plans have been implemented to maintain smooth traffic management especially during the time of Namaz so that there is no inconvenience to both the Namazis and the general public.
