News India Live, Digital Desk: The public anger that arose after the brutal murder of ‘Farsa Wale Baba’ in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh has now taken a violent form. The situation went out of control in Kosikalan area when the protesters started targeting police and administrative officials. Despite hours of persuasion by the DIG and senior officers, the crowd did not calm down and the angry protesters pelted stones at the SDM’s vehicle. The windows of the government vehicle were broken in the stone pelting and many officials were forced to retreat. Tension is at its peak in the entire area and additional police forces have been deployed.

DIG’s appeal had no effect

After the massacre, the DIG Range and top officials of the district themselves reached the spot to pacify the thousands of people standing on the National Highway.

Negotiations failed: Officials assured that the accused have been identified and arrests will be made soon, but the villagers remained adamant on demanding immediate action and concrete results on the spot.

Sloganting and anger: Baba’s followers and local villagers allege that the police is not serious about the safety of saints and sages in the area.

Attack on SDM’s vehicle and stampede

When the administration tried to open the highway, the crowd turned violent.

Stone pelting: Suddenly stone pelting started from the crowd. The protesters surrounded the SDM’s vehicle and attacked it with stones. The officers barely escaped with their lives during the attack.

lathicharge: Seeing the situation worsening, the police were forced to use force. The police tried to disperse the crowd by lathi charge, which led to a stampede on the spot.

Battle on the Highway: Delhi-Agra National Highway turned into a battlefield. The miscreants protested by burning tires on the road and also tried to damage several other vehicles.

Police response and arrests

Mathura Police is now adopting a strict stance against the miscreants.

Identification from video footage: Police are scanning drones and local video footage to identify the miscreants who indulged in stone pelting and arson.

Case filed: The process of registering a case against hundreds of unidentified people on charges of obstructing government work and damaging government property has been started.

PAC deployment: Several PAC companies have been deployed to maintain peace in the area. Police patrolling has been increased in Kosikalan and surrounding villages.
