A massive fire broke out in Jhansi Medical College, Uttar Pradesh due to cylinder explosion. It is being told that the fire broke out in the Children’s Ward (NICU), where many children were admitted for treatment. It is also reported that many children have suffered burn injuries in this incident. Bodies of 10 children have been taken out from inside. After the incident, the lights of the entire medical college have been cut off. To control the fire, fire brigade teams have reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue work. The fire brigade team first started trying to control the fire. After controlling the fire, the team entered the NICU ward.

10 children admitted in NICU ward died

The fire brigade team immediately started taking out the children from the NICU ward. The team rescued a total of 50 children, of whom 10 died, while 40 were saved. As soon as the information was received, Jhansi DM and SSP reached the spot along with the officials and took information about the entire rescue operation. It is being told that the fire in Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College started due to cylinder explosion.

An eyewitness present in the medical college said that till now 40 children have been evacuated. 24 and 25 children are still trapped in two wards. The fire had started inside. When the fire broke out, the employees present outside became aware of the flames. The relatives of the children are still seen running inside the hospital. Fire fighters and others are engaged in rescue operations.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased children. CM Yogi has instructed the district administration officials to immediately take the injured to the hospital and provide proper treatment. Along with this, he also worked for the speedy recovery of the injured. The Chief Minister has directed the district administration officials and fire brigade vehicles to reach the spot and speed up the relief work.
