New Delhi, July 31 (HS). The country's largest automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has announced the results of the first quarter (April-June) of the current financial year 2024-25. In April-June, MSI's profit jumped 47 percent to Rs 3,650 crore. In the same quarter of the previous financial year, the company had a net profit of Rs 2,485 crore.
MSI told the stock market on Wednesday that its profit has increased due to cost reduction efforts, favorable commodity prices and foreign exchange gains. During the April-June quarter, MSI's profit jumped 47 percent to Rs 3,650 crore. In the same quarter of the previous financial year, the company had earned a net profit of Rs 2,485 crore. During the April-June quarter, its net sales increased to Rs 33,875 crore, while in the same period of the previous financial year it was Rs 30,845 crore.
According to MSI, the company sold 5,21,868 vehicles in the first quarter, which is 5 percent more than the same period of the previous financial year. Similarly, in the first quarter, the company's sales in the domestic market increased by four percent to 4,51,308 units. In the April-June quarter of the current financial year 2024-25, the company's exports increased by 12 percent to 70,560 units.
