Married woman committed suicide by hanging herself, case registered against husband and aunt-in-law

Fatehabad, June 13 (HS). A married woman committed suicide by hanging herself under suspicious circumstances in Kirdhan village. The deceased's brother has accused the woman's husband and her aunt-in-law of harassing his sister. Bhattukalan police has registered a case of abetment to suicide against both of them. Police has sent the deceased's body for post-mortem.

Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Phulan village, in a complaint given to Bhattukalan police on Thursday said that his sister Silochana was married to Anup, a resident of Kirdhan, in May 2006. They have a 17-year-old son Rahul, who studies in Kota. Silochana was taking care of Rahul in Kota for two months. Pradeep told that his nephew Rahul fell ill 10 days ago, so he went to Kota. During his illness, Rahul also called his grandfather Bahadur Singh to Kota. According to Pradeep, he returned to his village Phulan on 10 June and his sister Silochana went to Kirdhan village.

The next day Bahadur Singh informed him on phone that Silochana had hanged herself at home. Pradeep told that his brother-in-law Anoop is a vagabond and used to harass his sister. Silochana's aunt-in-law Kamala, resident of Bangaon, had also come to Kirdhan and she also used to harass his sister. Troubled by this, his sister Silochana committed suicide by hanging herself at home. Pradeep suspected that these people might have killed her and hung her on the noose. In this case, police have registered a case against Anoop and Kamala on the charge of forcing her to commit suicide. Police is investigating the case.
