The Indian stock market closed on the red mark today i.e. Friday, October 25. However, the market opened 100 points higher in the morning. The stock market declined for the fifth consecutive day. Sensex closed 662 points down at 79,402. Nifty also fell by 218 points and closed at 24,180. Meanwhile, BSE Small Cap closed 1,307 points down at 52,335.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 declined and 10 gained. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 38 declined and 12 gained. Except FMCG and healthcare indices, all sectors closed with losses.
The stock market closed with a decline on Thursday
Earlier yesterday i.e. on October 24, the stock market witnessed a decline for the fourth consecutive day. Sensex fell 16 points to close at 80,065. Nifty also fell by about 36 points and closed at the level of 24,399.
