On the second day of the week, the stock market opened at a new high. Then at 3.30 pm, the stock market closed with a slight increase. During the closing session at 3.30 pm, the Sensex closed in the green mark. The Sensex closed at 80,708.86 points, up 44 points. While the Nifty closed at 24,602 points with a gain of 16 points.

In Tuesday's trading session, both the Sensex-Nifty index reached historical highs, while the Nifty Midcap index also managed to reach a new lifetime high. But profit booking has returned in the market from the upper levels, due to which the market closed with a slight rise. Due to selling in midcap stocks during the day's trading, the Nifty Midcap index also closed with a decline. Despite the decline in the market, buying was seen in IT and FMCG stocks, which gave great support to the market.
Market cap also closed flat
With the market closing flat, the market cap of the shares listed on BSE also closed flat. In today's trading, the market cap of BSE was Rs. 455.06 lakh crore which was Rs. 455.20 lakh crore in the previous session. That is, in today's session, the wealth of investors has increased by Rs. 14000 crore.

In today's trade, HUL closed up 2.49%, Bharti Airtel 1.76%, Tech Mahindra 1.17%, Infosys 1.07%, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.84%, ICICI Bank 0.72%, ITC 0.68%, Asian Paints closed up 0.6%. Whereas Kotak Mahindra Bank closed down 2.07%, Reliance 1.37%, NTPC 1.34%, UltraTech Cement 1.23%, Tata Motors closed down 0.43%.
