On the last day of the trading week, the stock market closed in the red after opening in the green. Then a decline was seen in the market during the closing of the market at 3.30 pm. Both Sensex and Nifty were seen in the red. Sensex fell 56.74 points to 81,669 points and Nifty fell 30.60 points to 24,669 points.
Market closed with slight decline
After the credit policy of RBI, the market appeared to be in a limited range. Sensex, Nifty closed with slight decline. Good buying was seen in midcap and metal stocks. Except IT and media, all sector indices closed in the green. Metal, FMCG, Telecom, PSU Bank indices closed with a gain of 0.3-1 per cent. BSE Midcap index closed 0.3 per cent higher and Smallcap index 0.6 per cent higher.
