Chandigarh, July 14 (HS). Union Minister of Energy, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal said that the vision of new young professionals is very important to face the challenges faced by the administration at present. Therefore, it is very important to run the administration according to modern needs by using the knowledge of young professionals. He said that by the year 2035, the current demand for electricity in the country will double and houses will have to be provided to 130 crore people in housing. To achieve these big goals, special cooperation of new young professionals will be required so that we can touch new dimensions across the country.

Manohar Lal was addressing as the chief guest at a function organized to mark the completion of 8 years of the Good Governance Associates Program (CMGGA) in Haryana at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi. His former good governance associates, senior officials of Haryana, private sector partners of this program and 22 good governance associates working in the state for the last 15 months were present at the function.

During the program, Manohar Lal, while referring to the flood in Rohtak in the year 1996, said that he did not know any bureaucrat in Haryana, he only knew the present Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad, who was the Deputy Commissioner in Rohtak at that time, but I had it in my mind that I have to serve the people in the flood, so with that spirit of service, I worked with the administration during the flood in Rohtak and learned.

The Union Minister said that when he took over as the Chief Minister of Haryana, Haryana was called policy paralysis. Rules and regulations did not work in the government system. To correct this system, he took the initiative to create a system to run it as per rules and regulations, which would be in the interest of the society and the country and the state. Under this, the CM Fellowship Program i.e. CMGGA program was started.

Earlier, Project Director and Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Kumar Agarwal said that Manohar Lal has been the father and chief architect of the CMGGA program. This program has been running successfully under his leadership. Amit Agarwal said that in the last 8 years, all the Sushasan partners have worked in very close coordination with the district administration and various departments of the state government and more than 660 Antyodaya Saral Kendras were opened and more than 10 crore services were made available to the people through these Saral Kendras.
