Manipur Violence: Incidents of violence are being seen once again in Manipur. Five people were killed in the violence that took place in Jiribam district yesterday. Also, a sleeping person was killed. Meanwhile, the police said that some miscreants tried to loot weapons from two battalions of Manipur Rifles in Imphal East district, but the security forces dispersed the crowd by firing tear gas shells and blank rounds.

A senior police officer said some miscreants tried to loot weapons from the 7th and 2nd Manipur Rifles battalions late Friday evening, but the joint security forces successfully dispersed the mob.

Two policemen were injured in the violence

Later, when the security forces were returning from the 7th battalion deployed in Khabesoi, the miscreants opened fire on them, injuring two policemen.

He said that senior officers immediately reached the spot and controlled the situation. The police is once again appealing to everyone not to take the law into their own hands. Miscreants involved in such evil will be dealt with strictly and they will have to face serious legal consequences.

Military helicopters deployed for surveillance

Meanwhile, a military helicopter has also been deployed for aerial patrolling due to incidents of violence and an anti-drone system has also been deployed to shoot down terrorists' drones.

Looted arms and ammunition recovered
