Imphal, 03 March (Hindustan Reporter). Manipur Police conducted intensive raids and search operations in sensitive and inaccessible areas of various districts of the state. In the operation, 217 people were detained for violating various sections of the Indian Judicial Code.
Police said today that movement of 344 vehicles carrying essential commodities has been ensured on National Highway No. 37 and 266 vehicles on National Highway No. 2. Strict security measures have been taken at all sensitive locations to ensure free and safe movement of vehicles.
Security forces have been deployed on a large scale in sensitive areas. Police said 133 checkpoints and check posts have been set up in various districts of Manipur, both in the hills and the valley.
