Manchester, May 20 (HS). Manchester City created history by winning their fourth consecutive Premier League title by defeating West Ham United 3-1 on Sunday.
Manchester City started the match aggressively and in only the 79th second, Phil Foden scored a goal to give his team a 1-0 lead. After this, in the 18th minute, Foden doubled the lead by putting Jeremy Doku's cross into the goal post.
However, Mohammed Qudus opened West Ham's account by scoring just before halftime (42nd minute). Manchester City was leading 2-1 at half time.
Rodri scored a goal in the 59th minute of the match to put Manchester City ahead 3-1 and in the end this score proved to be decisive. With this, Manchester City won the Premier League title for the fourth consecutive time.
Foden was awarded the Player of the Match award for his outstanding performance, scoring two goals for his team.
“Not just me, all the boys have played really well. We have played this scenario. We were confident. This feeling will never get old. I always want that feeling of winning,” Foden was quoted as saying by Sky Sports after the match.
