Ghaziabad, 09 September (HS). Some armed miscreants first misbehaved with a woman who had come to Rajnagar District Center (RDC) with her brothers and then attacked her. It is alleged that the attackers also fired two rounds from a pistol. One bullet also hit the woman's car. In a video viral on social media, a man is seen holding a pistol in his hand. The police arrested the accused. The police say that the accused had fired from his licensed weapon. The process of cancelling his license has been started.
ACP Abhishek Srivastava said that a woman named Anuradha has lodged a complaint in the Kavinagar police station. On the basis of the complaint, a person named Surya Chaturvedi has been taken into custody by the Kavinagar police station and is being questioned. This incident took place late at night in front of Nazir Hotel regarding parking of a car. Some people pushed and misbehaved with the woman and beat her. The attackers pointed a pistol at the woman and her brothers and also fired when the fight escalated.
After scanning the CCTV footage, the police identified the attacker as Surya Chaturvedi, resident of Ashok Nagar police station Sihani Gate. Kavi Nagar police station arrested the accused Surya Chaturvedi from the industrial area. Two empty shells and two live cartridges along with a licensed pistol have been recovered from his possession.
