Mamta's brother could not vote, name was not in the voter list

Kolkata, May 20 (HS). In the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting has been completed on seven seats of Bengal. However, the brother of state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee himself could not cast his vote. Babun Banerjee, the youngest brother of state chief Mamata, could not vote because his name was not in the voter list, but he was not aware of it in advance.

When Babun, living in Howrah, reached the polling station to cast his vote, he came to know that his name was not in the voter list. Trinamool raised questions on the Election Commission on this entire matter. Trinamool spokesperson Shantanu Sen said that the Election Commission of India is looking into the entire matter. Only he can explain why this happened.

Earlier in March, Babun had expressed his displeasure over the re-nomination of sitting Trinamool MP Prasun Banerjee from Howrah Lok Sabha seat. He had said that the party had promised him a ticket. Then Mamata Banerjee had openly talked about abandoning him and even breaking relations with him. After that there was also discussion that Babun could contest as an independent from Howrah, but he did not do so.
