Mamta shines in Durga Puja carnival on Red Road, song written by Chief Minister declared 'best puja song'

Kolkata, 15 October (Hindustan Reporter). Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee graced the grand Durga Puja carnival organized late Tuesday evening on Kolkata's famous Red Road with her presence. The special thing of this year was that the song written by Mamata Banerjee was honored as the 'Best Puja Song'. This song was sung by singer Shriradha Banerjee and its rendition won the hearts of the audience. The program was organized by the state government, hence it was mentioned by the government itself.

The carnival witnessed colorful processions of various puja committees, in which committees from South to North Kolkata displayed their unique themes. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was herself present, appreciated many of the performances and even clapped with the audience after her song presentation.

Famous Tollywood actresses also participated in the dance performances on the carnival stage. Sayantika Banerjee, who is also an MLA, attracted people's attention by dancing in the procession of Shribhoomi Sporting Club. The presence of celebrities like MP Sayani Ghosh, June Mallia, and Rachana Banerjee made the carnival more special.

This time foreign guests also participated in the carnival. They were specially invited to experience the rich cultural heritage and puja celebrations of Kolkata.

This carnival was started in 2016 on the initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Since then, this event is becoming more grand every year, due to which the curiosity and participation of the people is continuously increasing. In today's event, the processions of different puja committees mesmerized the audience. 'Forward Club' of Kalighat won applause with its presentation based on 'Naash' theme, while 'Kolahal Group' of Alipore Road also gave its unique presentation.

While the main event took place on Red Road, a 'Carnival of Treason' was also organized on Rani Rasmani Avenue, which attracted people's attention.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee welcomed the guests and interacted with them, making the event special.
